Deegawapi Stupa Restoration Fund receives Rs. 5 million worth donation

Chief Prelate of the ‘Sri Sambodhi Viharaya’ and Chairperson of 'Bauddhaya' TV Channel Ven. Boralande Wajiragnana Thero donated Rs. 5 million to the Deegawapi Stupa restoration project at the Defence Ministry today (Dec 23).

Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne said the Deegawapiya Trust Fund would be established to expedite renovation of Deegawapiya Stupa, an ancient Buddhist sacred shrine and an archaeological site in the Ampara District.
