Progress of Deegawapiya Stupa restoration reviewed
A panel of experts from the Board of Trustees involved in the Deegawapiya Stupa restoration project engaged in a field study tour and reviewed its progress in order to supervise and render proper directives on the restoration works at Deegawapiya Stupa restoration site in Ampara on Mar 03 and 04.
During the field study tour, attention was paid to the current progress of the Deegawapiya Stupa restoration work and technical advice was provided to project officials while addressing the current challenge and carrying out future construction work.
Eng. Kapila Peiris representing the National Engineering Research and Development Centre, Eng. Sanjeewa Wijesinghe from the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, Col. Mohan Kumar (Retd) of the Corps of Engineer Services, Architect Mr. Prasanna B. Ratnayake, Designer Mr. H.M.A.I. Bandara and Development Officer Mr. W.M.C. Sandaruwan representing the Department of Archaeology attended the field study tour.
