A group of students of Ananda College Colombo conducted a Shramadhana campaign yesterday (Jan 16) at the sacred Deegawapiya premises where renovation works of its Stupa is currently in progress.

Principal of Ananda College, Mr. Lal Dissanayake along with a group of teachers joined the campaign.

The students took the initiative to further support the restoration efforts of the Deegawapiya Stupa by raising funds and contributing Rs. one million to the 'Deegawapiya Trust Fund.'

The ‘Deegawapiya Trust Fund’, known for its philanthropic endeavours in favour of the Deegawapiya restoration project has been launched to generate funds to restore the former glory of Deegawapiya Stupa which was damaged due to various invasions.
